EMBER
Ashtray
2024

A compact object designed to support small everyday rituals around fire.

Ember is a contemporary ashtray designed around the ritual of smoking. The object combines a minimal cylindrical form with an organized internal layout that accommodates small tools such as a lighter, incense sticks, or palo santo.
A sliding semicircular lid partially reveals the interior, allowing the ashtray to open and close through a simple rotational gesture. This movement controls what is exposed and what remains concealed, transforming a functional object into a small ritual container.

3D printed in PLA, Ember explores the precision of digital fabrication while incorporating natural wooden elements that introduce warmth and tactile contrast.

The project reinterprets the traditional ashtray as a compact object of ritual, where storage, gesture, and material presence coexist within a clear geometric form.
